At the height of the pandemic last year, the national government enforced massive restrictions on public transit to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
These restrictions forced many Filipinos to rely on bicycles as their main transportation to work.
With the increasing number of people biking to work, the call for bike-friendly parking spaces is likewise getting louder.
With this, Suncrest Foods Incorporated (SFI) in Valenzuela City pioneered space-saving parking spots for its bicycle-owning employees, and became featured in The Philippine STAR.
According to Danielle Pacifico from the Audit Department of Rebisco, this is the company’s response to the plight of its employees in looking for bike-friendly parking spaces.
“Those bicycle parking spaces are one of their newest projects during this pandemic. This is to help their employees have designated parking areas, which is one of the problems of companies nowadays,” Pacifico told The Philippine STAR.
Kudos to the SFI Valenzuela Team for this initiative! Indeed, they have prioritized their employees' welfare and current lifestyle in the midst of this pandemic.
