Rebisco is the Top Exporter in the Asian Export Awards 2020

Rebisco has reached another milestone by winning in the Asian Export Awards 2020, Large Corporate Division, in the Snack Category. The company developed Doowee Donut, the winning snack and first conveniently packaged baked donut in the Philippines, as a response to the demand for an accessible and ready-to-eat baked donut snack. Rebisco invested in marketing Doowee Donut in Myanmar, studying Burmese behavior and lifestyles, and defining its target market of kids to develop the snack further. These efforts resulted in a high consumer rate among the Burmese, making Myanmar its top export market this year. 

Key Achievements: 

  • Growing the total global export sales of Doowee Donut 44 times from 2013-2019, and exporting the product to 22 countries. 
  • Myanmar became Rebisco's top export market by growing its sales 13 times from 2017-2019 despite the pandemic, through positioning Doowee Donut in the children's market. 
  • Enabling Doowee Donut to be sourced from the Philippines and Vietnam to ensure supply flexibility, especially during unexpected situations like the pandemic. 

Rebisco will continue to innovate and improve its product formulation, product specifications, and packaging to satisfy consumer preferences here and around the world. 

The Asian Export Awards is a prestigious awards ceremony to recognize distinct Asian exporters. The awards event honors products and services that have significantly enhanced businesses in the regional export scene, and is organized by the Singapore Business Review and Hong Kong Business publications.
