Rebisco Foundation Inc. (RFI) 2019 Graduates and Rebisco Group of Companies (RGC) employed Alumni were inducted as members of the RFI Alumni Association (RFI AA) through an event entitled “Blaze: Alumni Induction 2019” last July 20 at the Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites. Spearheaded by the RFI AA officers, the event formally introduced the Alumni Association and called on the members to unite and work hand in hand to achieve its Vision, Mission, and Goals, which are all in support of the Rebisco Foundation’s overall objective to create positive impact. The Blaze event was a two-part program, with the morning session intended for the 2019 Graduates’ welcome ceremony, and the afternoon session for the induction of officers. Both sessions aimed to strengthen the sense of belongingness to the Association and inspire commitment for active involvement.
The event was hosted by RFI AA Secretary Ms. Allaiza De Guzman of Corporate Human Resources Department (CHRD), and Mr. Charlon Ortega of Brand Management Group (BMG). The two prepared a fun ice breaker for the participants to keep them hyped while waiting for the actual session to start. Ms. Emma Del Fierro, Rebisco CHRD Head and RFI Head, gave her warmest welcome and sincerest congratulations to RFI’s tertiary graduates.
The main highlight of the morning program was a talk by RFI Vice-Chairperson Ms. Kristine Marie Valenzuela of Corporate Technical Center (CTC) entitled “Adulting 101.” She shared her struggles and the challenges she faced during her early days as an employee, and the insights and learnings she gained from her colleagues in Rebisco. Her inspirational talk gave the fresh graduates an overview of what to expect once they join the workforce and how they can prepare themselves for this new phase in their lives.
RFI AA Chairperson Mr. Joshua Cruz (CTC) delivered the welcome address during the Induction Program and expressed his gratitude for everyone’s presence in the first RFI AA-initiated event. He led the oath taking of RFI AA Officers and RGC-employed members who pledged to support the undertakings of the RFI Alumni Association. Ms. Kristine Marie Valenzuela presented the vision, mission, and goals of the association, as well as the upcoming events and activities for alumni engagement.
To cap of the event, in his closing remarks, Rebisco Group of Food Companies (RGFC) President and RFI Director Mr. Jonathan C. Ng congratulated the newly-inducted alumni whose presence reflected their strong commitment to help the Association achieve its mission for the community. Sir JCN, together with RFI President George T. Chua, awarded the certificates to the alumni inductees. Ms. Cathy Ng, Rebisco Corporate Resources Director Ms. Cristina Velasco, and Corporate HR - Talent Acquisition and Rewards Head Ms. Marla Vital were also present to render support for this significant event by the Rebisco Foundation Inc. and RFI Alumni Association.
